“Adopt-A-Senior” is a program with the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank which provides food for eligible seniors for one year. With a $100 donation to the “Adopt-A-Senior” Program, you can help provide one senior with a 40-pound box of food once a month for a year. This program allows seniors who have limited incomes to stretch their budget so they do not have to choose between purchasing medication, paying utility bills or buying food. In a typical “senior box” seniors can find products such as canned vegetables and fruit, rice, peanut butter, cereal, soups and other items that are nutritionally sound and senior friendly. As the heat rises this summer and the cold comes in the winter, seniors often find themselves forced to choose between many necessities of life. With your help, one senior’s burden can be lessened.
